What a revelation this book is! My 3 daughters are taking piano and I've had a hard time getting them excited about learning how to sight read. Flashcards weren't cutting it - they are just repetitive and boring. Notebusters is totally different. It's easily digestible and my kids like being timed (and rewarded with small treats) for besting their previous records. Every kid taking piano should have this book!

This book is excellent for really getting fluent in reading music. It has already helped my playing tremendously. It is a fair size book and you do 1 timed (1 minute) page a day during the week. If followed at this pace it takes about a year to finish the book and at the end it will be easy to read treble clef, bass clef, and all the ledger lines. A very good investment.

Im 45 and I started learning to read music a couple years ago and have bought this book twice now. I started out using it as it was designed, writing in the answers then play every fifth page in 60 seconds. I use my newer copy everyday now and play through every page timed. I started at 60 seconds and every time I finish the book I start over and take 5 seconds off the clock. I'm down to 30 seconds per page. This book has helped immensely. Now when I read music out of songbooks I can move through melodies pretty quick. Highly recommended
