Note Dash Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This Notice applies to the Note Dash browser-based web app (the “App”). It describes what information we collect when you use the App, how we use it, and the choices you may have.
The App is operated by Top Clef Publishing (“Top Clef,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
1. Scope and who the App is for
The App is offered for use only in the United States, and we do not target or market the App to individuals located outside the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States (including while traveling), you do so at your own initiative and risk, and you are responsible for compliance with applicable laws. Information collected through the App may be processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may be different from those in your location.
The App is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for use by children under 13.
2. What we collect
The App does not require an account and we do not ask for your name, address, or email to play.
When you use the App, we collect information in the following categories, which may include the examples listed:
A. Identifiers (pseudonymous)
- A persistent identifier associated with your browser (for example, a cookie-based identifier).
- A session identifier.
We use these identifiers to help keep the App running reliably and to support security and abuse prevention.
B. Device and network information (pseudonymous)
- Device and browser information (for example, browser type, operating system, or similar technical metadata).
- Network information (for example, an IP address or a hashed form of an IP address).
We generally use pseudonymous versions of device and network information (such as hashed identifiers) for security and abuse prevention. In limited cases (for example, certain administrative authentication failures), operational logs may include a raw IP address.
C. App usage and gameplay data
- App interactions and gameplay events (for example, number of games played).
- Performance information (for example, score or accuracy).
- Timestamps and basic session timing.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
A. Persistent identifier cookie
When you use the App, we place a persistent cookie on your browser that helps us recognize your browser over time. We use this cookie to keep the App running reliably, support abuse prevention and rate limiting, and help enforce fair-use limits.
This cookie typically lasts up to about one year unless you delete it earlier through your browser settings. The cookie is set with standard security settings designed to reduce unauthorized access.
B. Browser storage
We may store basic preferences in your browser (for example, whether sound is muted) to improve your experience.
C. Your choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings and can delete cookies at any time. If you disable cookies, some App features may not work as intended.
4. How we use the information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate and maintain the App.
- Help keep the App available, secure, and fair for all users.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and excessive automated use.
- Diagnose bugs and improve performance.
- Understand usage trends to improve gameplay and learning features.
- Generate internal reporting and analytics for operations, security, and product improvement.
5. How we share the information
We do not sell your information.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the App (for example, hosting, security, and analytics support) under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
We may also disclose information if required to comply with law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Top Clef, our users, or others.
6. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the App, maintain security, prevent abuse, improve the App, and comply with legal obligations. We may delete or de-identify information sooner where feasible.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to or deletion of certain information.
Because the App does not use accounts, requests are typically handled using information associated with your device or browser (for example, a cookie-based identifier). If you clear cookies, use private browsing, or change devices, we may not be able to reliably locate or link your information.
To submit a request, contact: [email protected]
8. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and related laws may provide you with certain rights, subject to exceptions.
In general, these rights may include the right to request:
- Access to the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.
- Deletion of personal information we collected from you.
- Correction of inaccurate personal information (where applicable).
We do not sell your personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the App.
To exercise California privacy rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your request using information associated with your device or browser.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App or provided personal data to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps, including deletion where appropriate.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information we maintain. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to this Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will reflect changes. Your continued use of the App means you accept the updated Notice.
12. Contact
If you have any questions or legal inquiries, please contact us at [email protected].
