Workbooks are solely dedicated to improving note-reading
Beginner workbooks contain 80 one-minute note-reading exercises, while the Complete Edition contains 240. Each one-minute exercise contains 24-25 notes for the student to identify and is printed on 8.5 x 11 inch paper (similar to standard sheet music). Every section includes instructions and an answer key. After every five exercises, students are challenged to play the notes from that day’s exercise on their instrument. All Notebusters’ workbooks also contain a brief overview of the most common note-reading methods.
Students are continuously challenged as they progress
Note-reading exercises are divided into multiple sections that cover an increasing range of notes as the student progresses. Students are presented with on-staff notes at the beginning of each workbook before being challenged with both on and off-staff notes (ledger line notes). The Guitar and Violin Editions focus on the treble clef while the Piano and Complete Editions contain both the treble and bass clef. Additionally, the Complete Edition covers the grand staff.
